Episode 2
Welcome to the very first full episode of With Poise & Purpose! I’m Rachel Ann, a family and newborn photographer with over a decade of experience, a former elementary school teacher and a mom navigating the delicate balance of entrepreneurship and family life. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the demands of running a business while being present for your loved ones, this podcast is for you.
In This Episode, We’ll Cover:
✔️ How to redefine success for your current season of life ✔️ Why setting boundaries is essential for protecting your time and energy ✔️ How to let go of tasks that don’t truly move the needle in your business ✔️ The two types of guilt entrepreneur moms often experience—and how to reframe them ✔️ A practical challenge to help you create more space for what truly matters
The Reality of Business & Motherhood
As entrepreneurs, we often feel the pressure to “be on” all the time—showing up on social media, keeping up with client work, and growing our businesses while managing home life. I’ve personally faced seasons of burnout, guilt, and misalignment. But I’ve also learned how to reframe these struggles and use them as indicators to realign my business with what matters most.
3 Key Shifts to Align Your Business with Your Family Life:
1) Redefine Success for This Season: Success in business looks different in every stage of life. What worked before kids, before marriage, or before other major life shifts may not align with your current priorities. It’s okay to evolve and redefine success on your own terms.
2) Set Boundaries That Protect Your Time: Your family and your well-being deserve the best of you—not just what’s left over. Boundaries like office hours, social media limits, and designated family days can help you stay present and avoid burnout.
3) Let Go of Things That Don’t Move the Needle: Not every task, opportunity, or client is meant for you. Identify what truly impacts your business growth and let go of the rest. More isn’t always better—focus on what truly aligns with your goals.
